Mandela month
reminds us of what Mr. Mandela has done for our country and for the less
fortunate. This year Mkuze Spar decided to do more than 67 minutes, but rather to
do a continuous contribution to the local community. On the 28th of
July 2012 Lizinda and her team assisted in renovating the Fundanathi Crèche.
They made a playground for the children to play in and donated a tank to store water.
The Mkuze Spar team didn’t stop there; they have also started a feeding scheme
for pensioners on the 1st day of every month. Most of the pensioners
leave their homes in the early hours of the morning to wait in long queues to
receive their pension payouts in front of the store. While the pensioners wait,
the Mkuze Spar staff provides the pensioners with free meal. This project is
extra ordinary, but shows great generosity towards the Mkuze community.
